As a Licensed Therapist having worked in Mental Health for over twenty years, I have met thousands of people and had countless conversations revolving around the fears, the secrets, shadows, and desires of people’s internal lives. The metaphor I often use when introducing the concept of therapy is that “I hold up the mirror for people.” If the client is willing to look at themselves honestly, they have the opportunity to grow and transform their lives.
